My Elephant Thai Restaurant @ Section 17, PJ

This restaurant located at a hidden place, hidden among the flats. However, a lot of people still able to find it and always full house. You have to call for reservation for the dinner time. Today, I decided to have a lunch here.
This is a very small restaurant and very happening. Small square table with white cloth and a white square mahjong paper on top. Small glass of flowers as a decoration. The air conditioning equipped attracted a lot of people come for lunch at the hot noon time. The another reason is their cheap set lunch.
I ordered a Tom Yum soup with rice. The Tom Yum was more sour than spicy. If this can be more spicy, balance the sour taste and it will be pretty better.  The set lunch also includes the Pandan Drink. It was very nice especially at the hot afternoon. Sweet with good smell.
The other set called Chicken Merry Land. A big fried drumstick with green curry. The green curry was not spicy, more on santan (coconut milk) taste. A big different with what i have tried before, it was not spicy at all.
All set lunch have watermelon and the salad. It was quite cheap to have such set lunch at PJ area.

Win Soon Fish Head Meehon @ Ss2 亚顺生虾鱼头米粉

Original fish head meehon RM9.50

This fish head cafe has few branches at Selangor and KL places. The first time I tried this was at Bukit Tinggi, Klang. That leaf a good impression for me. Yesterday, I went to its SS2 branch and this wasn't exactly the same as last time. I prefer the Klang one.

The price has increases to RM9.50 for each bowl of normal fish head meehon. Last time was around RM8.00. Wow, within one year, this has been increase so fast.

As you can see from the photo, the broth was more than the meehon (vermicelli). Besides the original fish haed broth, there has a new taste-- Tom Yum fish head. The tom yum broth was really killing me as I felt I can spurt the flame out of my mouth. The good thing was there was free drink for this set and it really helpful. The tom yum was quite good just too spicy.

If you ain't the person who can eat spicy food, I recommend you order their original broth which is really fantastic! This is a sweet tasting fish broth laced with milk and a dash of Shao Xing rice wine. There's also fried lard fritters for crunchy texture. The main attractive point is their crunchy, sweet taste fried fish. There has 4-5 big fillets in each meehon. Totally delicous! And I think that worth your money.

You can choose the ingredient such as fish fillet, fish paste, prawns, octopus balls or mixed. The price is vary. Personally, i think fish fillet is worth to try, and original broth still the best!

Vary Pasta @ Damansara Jaya

Today, let's us try some pasta. This Vary Pasta hides in a backstreet and I lost my way to reach this place. The road is so narrow and you need a skillful driver to fetch you here. GPS also if you are so blur as me.

This is a small Italian restaurant with warm interior design. Although the restaurant is not too spacious, there is still a good place for couple or friends gathering there. You can see there are several artistic pictures hang on the wall. This bring you a good mood and feel to enjoy your meal. Beside the nice environment, the waiters there are friendly too. They are willing to help you to take the photo if you want to.

Once you open the menu, you can screen from appetizers till desserts and your jaw will drop on the table while you see the price. The price is just too...........cheap. There is no government tax or service charge. Suitable for students to have birthday celebration here.

Beside the price, the food is the real attractive point. The pasta is strongly recommended. Spaghetti Olio Ronccino has good smell of olive and it is just make you can't stop your fork! Another nice spaghetti is Spaghetti Garlic and Herbs which has strong smell of garlic and it is tasty too!

For the meat lover, you can choose Fish Fillet Mexican style which has lot of vegetable on top of it. Most of my friends like this dish. Besides the fish, there is layer of potato at the bottom. Another valuable meal is the chicken chop which consist of chicken chop and spaghetti. Honey Rum chicken also quite nice. Lasagne is suitable for those cheese lovers. The extremely much cheese make people feel full easily and will bore with the cheese quickly. So if you are not crazy about cheese, you better choose another dish.

Spaghetti Garlic and Herbs RM 9.50

Spaghetti Olio Ronccino RM15.

Fish Fillet Mexican style RM15. The fish is hidden beneath the vegetable.

Lasagne RM 15.50. Can you see the overflow cheese?

Chicken chop with spaghetti RM14.50

Honey Rum Chicken RM19.50

Pork Chop RM14.50
This restaurant ever been written in local news paper The Star and roasted pork knuckle is recommended. Try it out if you like pork knuckle.
