Oishi @ Nijyumaru

Today is a special day. We decided to have a lunch at Japanese Restaurant. Nijyumaru (二重丸) is the biggest Japanese Restaurant at Taman Sutera Utama and we hope it won't disappoint us.

It has 2 floors. There is few cabinets which provides you privacy at upstairs. However, they only allow to dine in at upstairs once the downstairs is full. The ambiance is good and most of the waiters are Japanese. It's time for you to practice Japanese with them. What've shocked me was they spoke Chinese with us. There is one flaw for them which is there is no "welcome" and "thank you" when you enter and leave the restaurant. Or maybe they spoke too soft and I was half deaf.

The sushi is very nice especially the octopus and salmon. Kamori consists of several fresh slides such as salmons, octopus, clams and decorated with dry ice which gave it miracle effect. It is 1 person serving. The salmon is cut into thick slides and it melted in your mouth. The fresh octopus give you a chewy taste!

Kamori (RM32)

Getsu Mori is 2 persons serving. If you don't know what sushi you want to order, this is your choice. Warning: it is very full. The prawn is sweet but the tuna sushi didn't win my heart. Fish roe is the best and can see the chef is generous enough and put the fish roe full till bulge up.

Getsu Mori RM68

Next recommendation is Unagi Kabayaki (Grilled Eel). The eel is soft and slightly salty. It drives people crazy when you first bite it!

Unagi Kabayaki (RM 23)
Epi Tempura Temaki (fried prawn) is nice too. The smell of seaweed which envelops the tempura is perfect. Do you like Natto (fermented soybean)? Most of the people can't  accept it and unfortunately I am one of them. So I put aside the Tsukimi Natto after few tastes.

This was my first try for sake, a Japanese rice wine. It served with hot temperature and that's why the waiter pour for us at the beginning. The whole bottle of sake was hot to touch! The sake was clear as water and no bubble. It was smooth to drink and the burning sensation came immediately after you swallow the drink. The burning will last for awhile and it was suitable to drink at cold weather.

Sake-- Kikumasamune karakuchi 300ml (RM25)
Ebi Tempura Temaki (RM6)

Tsukimi Natto (egg yolk with fermented soybean) RM6
